How do I play?
Open How to play on the porch or from the in-game menu (☰). In short: look at your cards and the trump, stay in or sit out, swap cards, then take tricks. Each trick is a point, taking the most tricks wins the hand bonus, and staying in without taking a trick is a booray: minus six. First to the target with the outright lead wins.
Why can't I play that card?
You must follow suit and beat the best card of that suit if you can; if you can't follow, you must trump (and overtrump) if you can. Cards you can't play are dimmed, and tapping one tells you which rule applies. House rules you turned on in New game can add more.
Is my game saved?
Yes, after every move. Close the app at any time and tap Continue on the porch to pick up where you left off. Saves, settings and your record live only on this device.
Settings
- Pace changes how quickly the critters play and the cards move.
- One-tap play plays a card with a single tap (normally: tap to pick it up, tap again or swipe up to play).
- Night sounds turns the crickets and bullfrogs on or off.
- Reset record clears your stats; it keeps the game in progress.
What does it cost?
Booray Bayou is free to play with up to four critters at the table, Short and Classic games, and the Quick deal house rule. The Full Porch is a one-time purchase in the iOS app that adds five- and six-critter tables, Long games, the Trump lock, Top trump and Cinch house rules, and extra table finishes and card backs. It's yours to keep, with Family Sharing. There are no ads and no subscriptions.
I bought the Full Porch on another device
Open Settings → Restore purchase while signed in to the same Apple ID. Purchases can't be moved to the web version.
