Booray Bayou Privacy Policy

Effective 12 October 2026 · Booray Bayou is made by Jonathan Ruddell, an independent developer.

Booray Bayou is a single-player card game. It has no accounts, no ads and no tracking, and it never sells or shares your data. Here is everything it does keep or send, and why.

Your games stay yours

Your games in progress, your settings and your record (games, wins, streaks and hand stats) are saved on your device, in the app's local storage. In the iOS app, if you're signed in to iCloud, they are also kept in your own iCloud so they follow you to your other iPhone or iPad. That copy lives in your iCloud account with Apple; we never see it. You can switch it off in Settings → iCloud. To remove your record, use Settings → Reset record; to remove everything, delete the app (or clear this site's data in your browser).

The Full Porch purchase

The iOS app offers one optional in-app purchase, the Full Porch. Apple's App Store handles payment, and we never see your card or Apple ID. We use RevenueCat to check whether your purchase is active, so it can unlock and be restored. RevenueCat receives the purchase record (what was bought and when) and an anonymous ID the app makes up; nothing that identifies you. If you ask Apple for a refund, RevenueCat tells Apple, for that purchase only, whether it was delivered, so Apple can decide; by buying in the app you agree to this.

Anonymous play counts

To learn which parts of the game people enjoy and where they get stuck, the game sends anonymous daily counts, such as "a game was started with three critters" or "a hand ended in a booray". They carry the platform (web or iOS) and the week the game was first opened, and nothing else: no device ID, no account, no IP address is stored, and nothing can be traced back to you. On the server they only ever add 1 to a daily total.

Crash reports

If the game hits an error, it sends the technical error message and the code location where it happened, with the app and game-files version, so it can be fixed. Anything that could identify you is removed first, on your device and again on the server. Reports are kept as daily totals per error.

Game updates (iOS)

The iOS app checks for updated game files now and then. The check sends only the update channel, the app's build number and the version of the game files it runs.

No network needed

The game plays fully offline; counts and reports wait until you're back online. The game is served by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, keeps standard technical request logs (such as IP address and browser type) for security and reliability.

Children

Booray Bayou is suitable for all ages and collects no information from anyone, including children.
